Kieran Moïse’s impressive Afro, which he’d been growing and nurturing since childhood, surrounded his head like a halo. At 17, he was set to enroll at the United States Air Force Academy—and that of course, would mean a haircut.

Rather than lament the loss, Kieran decided to turn the rite of passage into a charity event benefitting two causes to which he feels a deep connection: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Michigan-based Children With Hair Loss, a nonprofit that provides human hair wigs free of charge to kids and young adults suffering from medically related hair loss.

Kitten Missing A Leg Shows Everyone What He Can Do With The Help Of Kind Family

A 3-week-old tabby kitten was found abandoned outside along with his siblings. A Good Samaritan took them in and tried to care for them, but soon realized that she wasn't equipped to provide the specialized care they needed.

"She contacted Saving One Life who asked if I would take them in," Caroline Grace, a foster volunteer of the rescue, told Love Meow. "Upon entrance exams of the kittens, I noticed that JD (the tabby) had a missing front leg and a twisted back leg.”

Opening the tap on any faucet in your home to access a stream of clean drinking water is a privilege that not everyone is afforded. The reality is that millions of people around the world must retrieve water with jugs and buckets from sources like rivers and wells. In many cases, despite all the effort it takes to transport full jugs from the river, the water that’s brought back is often contaminated.

This was the issue Dutch product designer Olivier de Gruijter was motivated to address while on a trip to India as a design student. He noticed that many people in India used jerricans (sometimes called jerry cans), plastic or metal containers for water, and was inspired to somehow improve their efficiency.

7-yr-old Inspires Town To Fund Playground For Special Needs Kids

Seven-year-old Gwen Ciccozzi has cerebral palsy and limited mobility, which makes it difficult for her to play in the nearest playground.

Their city is still gathering funds to build an all-inclusive playground, so they decided to help raise funds by selling lemonades.

Her salesmanship inspired other families to also sell lemonades or other goods to pitch in.

Meet “lol” The Black Labrador Helping Relax Distressed Witnesses In French Courts

Lol, a five-year-old black Labrador, lives at the local fire station and is called to court or to interview rooms when prosecutor Frédéric Almendros considers he might be of use.

Jean-Thibault Daniel, of the Handi’chiens association which owns Lol, said: “The consent of the victim or the witness is needed but there are relatively few cases where, if given the option of meeting Lol, they say they do not want to. The majority of the cases where he is used are those involving children or younger teenagers, who can easily be overwhelmed by the surroundings and procedures of a formal interview or court proceedings. Having a friendly, empathetic dog by their side makes all the difference.”
